Dieses Javascript-Skript kann Farben von RGB nach HSV und umgekehrt wandeln. Dadurch können die Vorteile von HSV auch für RGB-Farben genutzt werden. D.h., dass neben dem Farbton auch ein Wert der Sättigung und des Grauwertes eines Farbtones angepasst werden können.
Letztlich ist es ein Skript, welches ein kleines Framework zur Nutzung der Farbberechnungen enthält. Mit diesem ist es bspw. möglich Farbverläufe oder Farbkreise zu generieren. Denkbar wäre bspw. auch, eine Website auf Grundlage eines Farbtones dynamisch (durch aufhellen oder verdunkeln dieser Farbe in bestimmten Bereichen der Webseite) zu gestalten.

Finally it is something like a little framework for color-translations from the color-models RGB and HSV. So let me explain the advantages of the usage of translating RGB to HSV:
With HSV-colors one is able to adjust not only the color (the hue). You could also adjust the saturation and the (grey-) value. So in coders words: If you have a certain color defined in RGB it is very easy (1 line of code) to make this color a bit more saturated of brighter. The possibilities to use it are huge. You could do color-gradients, color-circles,... you could even build your website with a certain hue (but with different saturations or brights) dynamically.
